How to make your own unique font…

Have you ever had a need to have a unique font for a particular task? Well watching a past episode of Category5 there was a short segment on a particular website offering just that! a way to create your own font. Now there maybe easier way to do this, I am not an expert on this by any means! but here is the run down for FontCapture

Firstly visit http://www.fontcapture.com/ and click on the area that says “Create your font now” you then need to click on the link “Download font template” You will need to print this .PDF then click on link “Continue to step 2” this page gives a bit of detail on the form_template.pdf file and some things to be aware of when filling it out etc…  Once you have completed filling out the form you will need to scan it using your flatbed scanner! you need to save the scanned image as either .PNG or .JPG In the boxes provided enter a unique font name and author then select the previously scanned image and submit. As the site says this part could take some time depending on the size of your image and connection speed!  Once this has completed you then get a download of the font and you now have your own unique custom font!

I won’t cover how to install a .ttf font here, as there are many resources that cover this! but it’s not too difficult!
