Jetpack & Social Networking

I’ve most likely missed when this was implemented, but I just happened to notice a listing under plugins settings called “Social” this has listings for Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr,Yahoo & LinkedIn.

So the purpose of this post is to test the links for Facebook, Tumblr & LinkedIn as I already use WordTwit Pro for posting to Twitter. I gave up on using Facebook plugins because every time Facebook altered their API it always broke 3rd party plugins. The other issue is the free top level DynDNS domain name I’m using was blacklisted some time back so I can’t even post messages that includes the domain as it warns you that the domain is responsible for abuse so it’s banned .

So I’m interested to see how the Jetpack add-on handles posting, whether it simply places the body of the post on to  my Facebook wall, or if it summarises and links back to the original post, because if it’s the latter then it’s not going to work for me as intended.

I don’t think there’s going to be a problem with Tumblr or LinkedIn as they don’t have such a restrictions…

Ok enough talk let’s see what happens! 😉
